Dr Heba Ghoneim

Hebatallah Ghoneim is an Associate Professor of Economics at the German University in Cairo (GUC), where she currently serves as the Head of the Economics Department. She obtained her Bachelor’s degree in Economics from Cairo University, a Master of Arts degree from the American University in Cairo, and a PhD in Economics from the German University in Cairo.

Her research interests are diverse, covering welfare programs, international trade, foreign direct investment, financial inclusion, women’s empowerment, entrepreneurship, and sustainability, with a particular focus on the MENA region. Her research has been published in internationally refereed journals, and she actively participates in international conferences and collaborative research initiatives addressing development and policy-relevant challenges.
